The Proposal

It was August 3rd, 2007, when I got engaged! One of the best days of my life! And the story that goes with it is one to remember. Here is my Engagement Story...

Finally! After almost ten years together, starting as high school sweethearts, we're engaged. What an adventure this was. My Fiance had made all of the plans for the perfect night. As soon as we got on the plane though, things started to turn for the worst! First our luggage was on the wrong plane. During this whole ordeal I was complaining that my make-up was in the bags, not knowing the ring was in there too. My Fiance did his best to keep his cool without giving up his secret. We finally got our luggage and made our way to our hotel. That night, we had dinner reservations at a restaurant we had never been to, called Olives. When we arrived, following a lot of rain (it never rains in Vegas!), my Finace went up to check on our reservation. Secretly he was making sure everything was set up. Well...it wasn't! The rain had delayed the fountain show! He quickly gathered himself and thought quick. He told me that they had lost the reservation but promised us the best seat in the house if we came back on Friday. I was not happy about this, but he made it work without me being suspicious. Once again, two nights later, we arrived for dinner. This time they held to their promise. Our table was on the blacony overlooking the Lake of the Bellagio. We sat down, ordered our appetizers, and there it was. "Time to say goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli came on. I love this song! My Finace looked extremely nervous, but I wasn't paying attention, I was mesmorized by the fountains. Suddenly I heard his chair pull out, and he asked me if I was crying yet (on a previous visit, I cried to this fountain show because it is so pretty). When I turned to answer him, he was getting down on his knee, with the box he had made, and asked me to marry him! I couldn't believe it! Of course I said, "yes" and kissed him! The other patrons at the restaurant on the balcony with us applauded and congratulated us. The wait staff who helped set it up also came out to congratulate us and take pictures. The Pastry Chef even gave us a gift! I came to find out later that the song had come on to early, and the original plan was to have the ring come out on a silver platter during dessert!. All in all, it was the perfect night!
